🦋 2025 in Review: A Year of Growth and Change

As we near the end of 2025, New Beginnings Foundation CIO reflects on a transformative year. From expanding our team to launching new projects and opening our online store - it’s been a season of connection, creativity, and courage.

🌿 A Fresh Look and a New Way to Support Us

You may have noticed our website has had a little refresh. We’ve made it easier to explore our work, find support, and stay up to date with what’s happening behind the scenes.

One of the most exciting changes is the launch of our official New Beginnings Charity Shop on Etsy. Where every candle, mug, and magnet supports our mission to keep children seen, and families together when it is safe to do so.

🦋 The Lost Boys Project

In January 2025, the Centre for Social Justice released a nationwide call to action to address the state of the nation for boys and young men, inviting voices from across the UK; including grassroots charities, to join the conversation. New Beginnings Foundation proudly answered that call.

As part of the Lost Boys project, we shared our experience of supporting fathers and young men whose lives have been shaped by trauma, disconnection, and loss. We asked what happens when our society only sees vulnerability as the quiet kind while our boys and men climb the statistics for unemployment, criminalisation, and suicide, yet are rarely seen as needing/deserving care or compassion.

Together with the Centre for Social Justice and other partners, we continue to ask how we can act (not because we want a better world for women, but) because men deserve someone to stand up and tell them they are worth it. As we head into 2026, it is our hope that this work will continue to grow ensuring every boy can see a future built on belonging, possibility and hope.

🏆 One Year On from the CSJ Award

It’s been one year since New Beginnings Foundation was honoured by the Centre for Social Justice Foundation and the ripple effects have been extraordinary.

Since that incredible night, we’ve grown from a small team of four to a thriving staff of twelve. We’ve moved into our very own building, strengthened partnerships, and expanded our reach to support more families than ever before.

The recognition we received in 2024 helped amplify our voice at a national level and for that, we remain deeply grateful.

"Every year, more families find the courage to change their story, and every small improvement we make helps us stand alongside them that little bit better.

As we head towards 2026, I’m happy to say we’re one step closer to our goal of helping more families in and around Greater Manchester. Watch this space for more information.

Thank you for being part of our journey.”

💬 Closing thoughts from one of our parents

“What I learned from New Beginnings is that all our children need is one safe person and one safe space. It’s our job (as parents) to be that person and create that space.”
